That turned into OpenSAAB T2—and a lot of late nights. OpenSAAB is an open-source emulator with familiar Tech 2 menus, touch or keyboard controls and a direct USB connection. Our NG 9-3 Android tests have included vehicle identification, fault-code reading, Engine Data and security access, including re-adding my reverse parking sensors. Mac, Windows and head-unit previews have different testing coverage; success on one platform does not qualify the others. Chipsoft Pro is the current tested adapter path. Please use genuine hardware. Other adapters remain experimental or unsupported. Reading a VIN alone does not establish full module access; some procedures need SW-CAN on pin 1 as well as HS-CAN. Latest Android 64-bit: 0.1.0-preview.28 · separate 32-bit head-unit build: 0.1.0-headunit.17. Release information checked 30 September 2026. Follow the links below for subsequent changes. Maintained project overview, acknowledgments and updates Current downloads, installation and known limitations If you test it, please tell us your app version, device, adapter and exact steps. Current Android and Windows builds can prepare a private support report; review it before sending and share the receipt privately. Successful tests are welcome too. Keep VINs, security data and raw logs out of public posts. Have another adapter and a working Tech2Win setup? OpenSAAB Collector lets you record USB traffic, stop locally, optionally sanitize and review a copy, then choose whether to upload. Sanitization cannot guarantee removal of every identifier or security exchange. Thanks to Matthias Claesson (TrionicCANFlasher) for his pioneering community SAAB tools, Bojer for mentorship, roffe84 and rogue33 for advice, and tpw_rules for his earlier Tech2Win for SAAB work. These acknowledgments recognise independent work and guidance, not endorsement.
