DEVELOPMENT UPDATE · 23 SEPTEMBER 2026

From the VIN to the original menus.

The M4 Mac mini now reads a fresh bench ECM VIN through Chipsoft Pro and launches the original SAAB diagnostic firmware from Connect and start.

The old Mac action stopped after its VIN helper. In the private 0.2.7 development build, the emulator starts with a native Chipsoft bridge that opens when the original software needs communication. It reuses the existing adapter protocol and read-command policy while keeping the native serial transport separate.

What we verified

What the test does not prove

Our ECM-only bench lacks the single-wire connection on diagnostic pin 1. The original firmware's single-wire wake-up was rejected. The app now explains this specific failure, but original ECU-information and DTC retrieval were not confirmed. Those results require further validation with the required vehicle buses present.

Both Apple-silicon and Intel 0.2.7 packages were built from the same recorded source revision and archived with checksums. The exact new ARM64 build is installed and tested on M4. Intel 0.2.7 passed checks under Rosetta; its physical Intel hardware retest is still pending. Earlier Intel setup and VIN checks remain separate evidence.

One product across platforms

Our target remains consistent setup, controls, original menus and supported adapter behavior across Android, macOS, Windows and Linux. This is a development checkpoint, not a public desktop release or a declaration of full feature parity. Vehicle validation, remaining DTC integration, USB unplug/replug recovery, interface checks and release walkthrough videos are next.
